Privacy Policy

What this covers

This policy covers locardlist.com. Locard is a noticeboard for investigations run by other people. It is not a law firm, it does not conduct those investigations, and it does not provide legal advice or legal services.

What we collect

When you submit an investigation form, we collect:

  • Your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number.
  • Your answers to the questions on that notice’s form.
  • A record of your consent — the wording you agreed to, the time, your IP address and your browser’s user agent. We keep this so we can show what you agreed to and when.
  • Campaign attribution from the link you arrived on, where present, so we know which placement reached you.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, medical records, prescriptions, account numbers, or government identification.

Tracking

We do not run advertising or analytics trackers on notice pages. Given what those notices are about, loading a third-party tag on them would be indefensible. Any measurement we do happens on our own servers, after a submission, and never carries your answers.

Who we share it with

This is the point of the site: what you submit is shared with the law firm conducting that investigation, so they can assess whether your experience is relevant and contact you. You will be told which firm it is. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with the company the notice concerns.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions for as long as the investigation and any resulting matter is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for our records. You can ask us to delete yours at any time; once it has been passed to a law firm, their own retention applies to their copy and you would need to ask them as well.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or opt out of its sale or sharing — we do not sell it in any case. Write to hello@locardlist.com and we will action it.

Contacting you

We contact you only about the notice you submitted to. You can stop it at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or writing to hello@locardlist.com.
